Description

Luscious, Bing cherries are cooked down with a splash of Brandy. This cherry sauce is perfect for a multitude of desserts or your favorite sweet, breakfast dish.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Bing cherries, pitted and halved
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp Brandy
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Cook cherries: Combine cherries through salt in a small sauce pan. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until cherries are softened.
  2. Add cornstarch & lemon: Dissolve cornstarch in 1 teaspoon of water. Stir into sauce and return heat to a boil. Cook about 1 minute or until thickened. Stir in lemon juice.
  3. Serve: Serve with French toast, waffles, pancakes, ice cream or your dessert of choice.
