How to Make  and Use  Basil Pesto Sauce

This Basil Pesto sauce includes all of the traditional ingredients of a Pesto Genovese with a little fresh lemon juice added in.

Ingredients:

-basil leaves -pine nuts, almonds or walnuts -garlic -extra virgin olive oil -lemon juice -parmesan cheese

10 Ways to Use Pesto

-On pasta -As a sandwich spread -Mixed with grains -On pizza -In soup -On meat -On vegetables -On bruschetta -With eggs -Mixed with tomato sauce

Grind nuts, garlic and basil.

Grind nuts and garlic in a food processor. Add basil and pulse to chop.

Add oil, lemon and cheese.

Stream in olive oil while blending. Stir in lemon and cheese. Season to taste.

Serve and store

Use in your favorite recipe! Store in a glass jar with a coat of olive oil on the top in the fridge or freezer.
