Salted Brown Butter  Chocolate Chip Cookies

Why you should try these:

These are the ultimate Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. They’re crispy and chewy, sweet and salty, and just the best.

Place butter in a small pot. Melt over medium heat. Continue to cookie, stirring often, until browned. Transfer to a bowl.

STEP 1:

Cool. Place in fridge to chill until the texture of softened butter. While mixture chills, measure the dry ingredients.

STEP 2:

Combine AP flour, bread flour (or more AP flour), salt and baking soda in a bowl. Whisk to combine

STEP 3:

In a stand mixer or using a bowl and hand beaters, beat together soft butter with white and brown sugar for 3 minutes.

STEP 4:

Add whole egg and yolk, one at a time, and mix until fully combined. Stir in milk and vanilla extract.

STEP 5:

Mix in dry ingredients in 2-3 additions. Stir in chocolate chunks and chocolate chips. Chill dough at least 2 hours.

STEP 6:

Scoop 1 1/2 tablespoon sized dough balls onto lined sheet tray. Top with 2 or 3 extra chocolate chips. 

STEP 7:

Bake at 350F for 10-14 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately sprinkle with flakey salt. Transfer to wire rack.
